REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MARCH 2, 2009 <br />TITLE: <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT <br />ACCEPTING FUNDS FOR THE <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT HARBOR <br />BOULEVARD AND KENT AVENUE <br />(PROJECT NO. 08-5022-C) <br />1 <br />~` <br />CITY MANAGER <br />f RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting funds from California Palm <br />in the amount of $39,300 into the select street construction fund <br />(account no. 59-01-5790, project no. 08-5022-C) and appropriating the <br />funds into the select street construction fund (account no. 59-551-6631, <br />project no. 08-5022-C) for the traffic signal installation at Harbor <br />Boulevard and Kent Avenue. <br />DISCUSSION <br />As part of the CEQA Environmental Compliance required for the <br />installation of a traffic signal at Harbor Boulevard and Kent Avenue, the <br />developer, California Palms, is required to contribute a fair share <br />contribution. The developer funds received by the City will be used for <br />design and construction of the traffic signal. The City has already <br />received Hazard Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant funds for the <br />remaining cost of the traffic signal. <br />This intersection was ranked thirteenth <br />Priority List.
