Award a contract to Alliance Street Works, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices and add-on <br />alternate one in the estimated amount of $2,986,700 for construction <br />of Local Street Rehabilitation - Project Restore Phase V. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $3,583,100. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This project is part of the City's $100 million investment to rebuild <br />neighborhood streets throughout the City. Segments of local streets <br />located north of McFadden Avenue and east of Flower Street have been <br />identified as high priority for rehabilitation in the City's pavement <br />management system (Exhibit 1). The Pavement is deteriorating due to <br />weather, age and heavy usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, <br />sidewalks, cross gutters and wheelchair ramps are also in various states <br />of disrepair and require replacement. <br />This project provides for recycling of existing asphalt pavement with the <br />cold-in-place process, construction of asphalt concrete, replacement of <br />damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and curb ramps. Once <br />completed, these improvements will enhance the ride quality, surface <br />drainage and visual appearance of the neighborhoods. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 6 and 9, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on February 26, 2009. A summary of the bid invitations <br />mailed. the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br />23A-1 <br />
