FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />a,m <br />SANTA ANA POLICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION <br />REPRESENTATION UNIT <br />FOR THE TERM JANUARY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025 <br />This First Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered into on <br />May 6, 2025, by and between the City of Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the Constitution and the laws of the State of California ("City") and <br />the Santa Ana Police Management Association ("SAPMA") a recognized employee bargaining <br />unit (collectively "Parties"). <br />RF.C1TATN% <br />WHEREAS, on November 15, 2022, the Parties have entered into an MOU with a term of <br />January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parties wish to modify Article 6.0 of their MOU as set forth below. <br />THE PARTIES THEREFORE AGREE as follows (additions are underlined and deletions <br />are stricken): <br />Article 6.0; Section 6.2(A), amend the language as follows: <br />SWORN ONLY <br />Sworn employees may oftly-qualify for one (!)the following Eeducation (incentives: Leyel <br />a! o time and not ifi4ended to be eampounded w4h one ath _ <br />1. L-ay-L44Supervisory POST Certificate — A sworn employee who successfully obtains <br />their Supervisory POST certificate, shall be paid at a rate set approximately five percent <br />(5%) above their then current base monthly salary step). <br />2. Lev14California Command College or FBI National Academy — A sworn employee <br />who successfiilly ebtains their- guPefyisef!y POST AND.cj pletes the California <br />Command College, OR FBI National Academy, orequivalent coursework that focuses <br />on developing leadership skills or increasing knowledge of contemporary law <br />enforcement issues of a management/executive nature and is approved by the Chief of <br />
