November 18, 202-4 Flotto Santa Ana City Council, Thanks for all your dedication to maintain and improve our city. I live in the South Coast Neighborhood and have children that attend Local schools In Ward 4. 1 was not in favor of tile changes proposed in the Bristol.--Sunflower-Plaza-MacArthur lock. For awareness, I try avoid Bristol St by taking Flower to Sunflower as much as possible or MacArthur Blvd to Boar depending on the day because it is already congested but most days, it isn't possible. When I learned of the$22,000,000"gift"from the devetopers to the City of Santa Ana, I was shocked. It is my understanding that Ward 4 will be heavily impacted not only by upcoming Construction but by the result of the Related project to bring apartment living and retail developments to the area of Bristol and MacArthur near S Plaza Dr. 11,Is my feeling that those living in Word 4 would not support such an initiative except to improve tho existing retail space due to the heavy congestion we already experience on Bristol St especially from'the 405 Bristol Exit and 55 Freeway exit of MacArthur all the way down to Fairview. In my mind,it would be appropriate for the$22,000,000 giftto stay in Ward 4 to benefit the residents that will be directly impacted by this change, Is there an oversight committee so up to review how this money wit(lee property allocated? With Ward 4 accosq to that fund ing, I'd like to niake the f0tLowing suggestions for Your consideration: 11 Flower St from Sunflower to Warner,both sides of the street is very dark-I'd Oka to suggest brighter street Lights or double the lights tea tine this part of Santo Ana that has 3 schools along it. I do not foot safe,walking outside.because it is so dark and I)CCMISe of the;f[00d channel. We've had many neighborhood meetings about how unsafe; it is because of ilia poople that jtlegat[y camp there, 2)Because there is traffic coming into the South Coast Neighboorhood due to MacArthur FundamentaL school, I'd like to Suggest a better drop off/drive route along Flower St to mitigate intermediate school traffic. Perhaps widen or add additional lances that could incLud-0 bike lanes by covering up the flood channel. *The flood channel only seems to benefit the transients and 'troubtemal(orsth,qt Hide tl,ier(-,,. Please do something about the flood channel that is next to our schools&children! It is distrosqfut to know that they are in close proximity to minors. 3) M8Y I Suggest hiding all the telephone poles along Flower St(from Sunflower to Wa-mor) unclorground to make roam to widen the road-if it is decided to widen this part of Flower then hiding the telephone poles would support that initiative
