Reject the bid from D.D. Office Products, Inc. d/b/a Liberty Paper <br />as nonresponsive to the specifications. <br />2. Award a contract to Unisource Worldwide Inc. for reprographic papers <br />and envelopes for a one-year period, with provision for two year <br />renewals in the annual amount not to exceed $110,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Agency's Central Services division <br />stocks copier, laser and specialty papers for in-house duplicating services <br />for departments throughout the City. In addition, the Police Department's <br />Central Distribution Center stocks copy paper for various divisions and the <br />Holding Facility. <br />Bids were solicited and opened on February 13, 2009, and evaluated. A <br />summary of the bid invitations and bid received is as follows: <br />13 Requests For Bid mailed <br />2 Bid received <br />The City strives to purchase environmentally responsible products, <br />including paper. Therefore, the bid specification required that the <br />reprographic paper to be Forest Stewardship Council certified, an industry <br />standard that ensures the harvesting was achieved in a sustainable fashion. <br />D.D. Office Products, Inc. d/b/a Liberty paper was found to be <br />nonresponsive to the specification, as the vendor and copy paper brand did <br />not provide this certification. The bid received from Unisource Worldwide <br />Inc is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. <br />22D-1 <br />
