REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JUNE 1, 2009 <br />TITLE <br />QUARTERLY REPORT OF CONTRACTS <br />ENTERED INTO BY THE CITY <br />MANAGER <br />~ ~ <br />ff l <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15~ Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2~d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the Quarterly Report of Contracts entered into between <br />January 1 and March 31, 2009, valued at $25,000 and less. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On November 7 2006 the voters approved a Charter Amendment increasing the <br />authority of the City Manager to enter into contracts and agreements up to <br />a value of $25,000. Section 421 of the Charter requires the City Manager <br />to report to the City Council quarterly on the contracts entered into <br />under his authority for informational purposes. The report is required to <br />include the names of contractors and the amounts of each contract. <br />Exhibit A is a listing of all purchase orders, agreements and change <br />notices entered into between January 1 and March 31, 2009 valued at <br />amounts between $500 and $25,000. Unless included under a blanket <br />contract, the City as a general rule does not purchase goods or services <br />valued at under $500 through either a purchase order or an agreement. <br />Purchase orders and service agreements valued at greater than $25,000 <br />require approval by the City Council. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Catherine S ndifor <br />Assistant City Manager <br />City Manager's Office <br />19D-1 <br />
