NO. 09-031) <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />POLICE ^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award a contract to Wondries Fleet <br />Provision of County of Los Angeles, <br />sedans in the amount of $99,541.28. <br />DISCUSSION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Group, under the Cooperative Purchase <br />for the purchase of four police patrol <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency maintains 94 police patrol vehicles that operate a minimum of 8-12 <br />hours per day, including double shifts. During the current fiscal year, <br />four police patrol vehicles have been removed from service due to street <br />accidents that rendered the vehicles inoperable. <br />When assessing options for replacement vehicles, the Fleet Division reviews <br />the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. <br />Currently, hybrid vehicles are not available in the Full-size/Large class <br />category that includes the Ford Crown Victoria sedan. <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase <br />against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid <br />process.
