CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br />The City Attorney reported on items related to Sally Calderon, ADJ259567; and Hector <br />E. Cabreros, WCAB Case No. DJ1465123. See Item 19A for report. <br />The Mayor announced that this was the time to hear public comments on matters on the <br />Council and Agency agendas and also for non-agenda items within the jurisdiction of <br />the City Council. <br />Steve Miller discussed Item 25A and its' impact on the community non-profit groups; <br />George Garcia commented on various issues in the City; Ana Carricchi, representative <br />of Latino Health Access, opposed Item 39A; Doug Mangoine supported Item 85A; Gary <br />Rothman, Rick Eiden, Tefere Gebre, Anthony Navarrete, and Wendy Tarr opposed Item <br />39A and supported Item 85A; Alicen Wong, representing Wal-Mart stores, supported <br />Item 39A; Anca Caban addressed the Council regarding her business establishment at <br />the Santa Ana Depot. <br />The Mayor announced the following items would be taken out of order: <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS <br />85A SUPPORT FOR THE EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT <br />(Alvarez, Sarmiento, Tinajero) <br />Motion: <br />Adopt a Resolution. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 2009-023 - A Resolution of the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana supporting the Employee Free Choice Act of 2009 <br />(H.R. 1409, S.560) <br />MOTION: Alvarez SECOND: Sarmiento <br />VOTE: AYES: Alvarez, Benavides, Bustamante, Martinez, <br />Sarmiento, Pulido (6) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Tinajero (1) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 105 MAY 4, 2009 <br />
