NO. 09 -031) <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />POLICE ❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 "d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award a contract to Wondries Fleet <br />Provision of County of Los Angeles, <br />sedans in the amount of $99,541.28. <br />DISCUSSION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Group, under the Cooperative Purchase <br />for the purchase of four police patrol <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency maintains 94 police patrol vehicles that operate a minimum of 8 -12 <br />hours per day, including double shifts. During the current fiscal year, <br />four police patrol vehicles have been removed from service due to street <br />accidents that rendered the vehicles inoperable. <br />When assessing options for replacement vehicles, the Fleet Division reviews <br />the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. <br />Currently, hybrid vehicles are not available in the Full - size /Large class <br />category that includes the Ford Crown Victoria sedan. <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS -2312 authorizes the City to purchase <br />against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid <br />process.
