REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JUNE 1, 2009 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR A COMPUTER AIDED <br />DISPATCH SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />agreement with TriTech Software Systems for maintenance support to the <br />Fire Department's computer aided dispatch system in an amount not to <br />exceed $124,581 for a one year period, subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fire Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system was upgraded <br />in September 2006. TriTech Software Systems is provider of this <br />service, and provides maintenance to their proprietary hardware, <br />software, and software interfaces. The system provides for the <br />dispatching of emergency vehicles and the transfer of data to mobile <br />data computers (MDC) located in these vehicles.
