FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Adopt a Resolution regarding wages and benefits for Unaffiliated <br />Confidential classifications of employment. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City has recently completed contract negotiations with the Santa Ana <br />Management Association (SAMA), Police Officers Association (POA}, Police <br />Management Association (PMA), Fire Benevolent Association (FBA), and Fire <br />Management Association (FMA), resulting in contract extensions to their <br />2008-09 and 2009-10 amended Memorandums of Understanding. <br />In conjunction with Council's approval of the wage and benefit changes for <br />represented employees, the subject action will provide for similar changes <br />for the City's unrepresented Unaffiliated Confidential (UC) employees. <br />Unaffiliated Confidential classifications are those assigned to perform <br />work in support of employee-employer relations activities. <br />The provisions of this resolution are as follows: <br />1) Salary: July 1, 2009 = 0% <br />January 1, 2010 = 0% <br />July 1, 2010 = 40 (deferred from July 1, 2009) <br />January 1, 2011 = 2.50 (deferred from January 1, 2010) <br />July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012 = Oo <br />2) Vacation cash out: Employees shall defer longevity vacation cash out <br />for 2009-10. Allow carryover of 60 hours of longevity vacation. The <br />maximum cash out value is 90 hours for 2010-11 and 2011-12. <br />55A-1 <br />
