Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />agreement with the LA 84 Foundation in the amount of $50,000 for <br />a one-year term to provide aquatics programming at City pools, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager <br />and City Attorney. <br />2. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing a grant from LA <br />84 in the amount of $50,000 in the Recreation Special Fees and <br />Donations revenue account (no. 22-01-5799) and appropriate same <br />to the Recreation Special Fees and Donations expenditure account <br />(no. 22-231-6291). <br />3. Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute <br />the attached agreement with the YMCA of Central Orange County in <br />an amount not to exceed $57,000 for a one-year term, for the <br />management and operations of aquatics programming at City pools, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager <br />and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The LA 84 Foundation (the Foundation) is a California nonprofit public <br />benefit corporation organized for the purpose of aiding and assisting <br />amateur sports programs. The Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant <br />to the City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Agency, which will be partnering with the Santa Ana YMCA to accomplish <br />the grant objectives. Under the grant agreement, the YMCA will <br />operate and manage aquatics programming at Memorial Pool as well as <br />the City-wide swim team and water polo activities at the City's five <br />swimming pools, including Memorial, El Salvador, Jerome, Santa Anita, <br />and Salgado. The majority of the summer aquatics programs will <br />continue to be operated by City aquatics and recreation staff. <br />25B-1 <br />
