NS-XXX <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION 2-325 TO THE <br />SANTA ANA MUNICPAL CODE RELATED TO <br />COMPENSATION FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The City's budget challenges and the potential impacts on the City's ability <br />to preserve high quality core services to the public has lead the City <br />Council to evaluate the current structure of the City's appointive boards <br />and their cost. <br />B. The City agencies which staff the various boards and commissions <br />have reviewed all costs associated with providing support to the <br />appointive boards including materials and supplies, training and travel, <br />staff time, and member compensation. <br />C. The Library Board, Human Relations Commission and Early Prevention <br />and Intervention Commission no longer exist as the City has either <br />abolished and/or transferred the responsibilities of these bodies thus <br />rendering compensation for member participation inapplicable. <br />D. The following action will contribute to necessary reductions in city <br />expenditures. <br />E. All provisions of the Santa Ana Municipal Code which are repeated herein <br />are repeated solely in order to comply with the provisions of section 418 of <br />the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. Any such restatement of existing <br />provisions of the Code is not intended, nor shall it be interpreted, as <br />constituting a new action or decision of the City Council, but rather such <br />provisions are repeated for tracking purposes only in conformance with <br />the Charter <br />Section 2. Section 2-325 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />such that it reads as follows (new language in bold, deleted language in strikeout for <br />tracking purposes only): <br />Sec. 2-325.
