REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />AUGUST 3, 2009 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEL~:NT WITH GEOSPATTnT. <br />TECHNOLOGIES, INC.FOR PURCHASE <br />OF THE CRIME MAPPING ANALYSIS <br />SOFTWARE <br />~i <br />~t <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1S' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"`' Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreement with GeoSpatial Technologies, Inc. for the purchase of <br />GeoSpatial GST CrimeMap Software suite and program maintenance for a one- <br />year period, in an amount not to exceed $71,593.75, subject to non- <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On December 17, 2008 Council approved the Police Department's purchase of <br />the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Mobile Mapping System from <br />GeoSpatial Technologies. The CrimeMap Analysis and Reporting System is an <br />additional proprietary software tool provided by GeoSpatial Technologies <br />that utilizes database querying and analytical tools specifically for <br />public safety agencies. CrimeMap will enable users the ability to <br />geographically view and analyze data, searching for incidents that occurred <br />on any time/date range. These applications will enable the Police <br />Department to support mission-critical operations in a user interface <br />environment. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the DOJ Cops Technology Grant Account (no. 127-356- <br />6661). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />~~ ~- <br />Paul M.
