Staff <br />went to San Diego to observe the entire process. In addition to the cost <br />savings and expedited process, it is also environmentally friendly. Jim added <br />that this will allow them to maximize the use of the allotted money for Local <br />Street Repair. <br />Jim added that the financing mechanism is being taken to City Council for <br />approval. He mentioned that we acquired an A rating from Standards and <br />Poors on the bonds. Joe Fletcher added that the court entered a judgment <br />validating for the $60 Million transaction on November 16, 2007. There is a 30 <br />day appeal period. <br />The Committee requested an updated map indicating which streets will use the <br />cold in place recycling process. These can be shown in green. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Alvarez asked Staff to let our Supervisor's Board know that the <br />City is moving fon~vard with Local Street Repair plans and that we are looking <br />forward to the County's City share for 2008. <br />3. TRANSIT MASTER PLAN UPDATE <br />Jim informed the Committee that there's an item going for City Council approval <br />to authorize additional funds for a video simulation. George added that 50% of <br />these funds will be used to create the video simulation, 25% for the Step One <br />application, and 25% for contingencies. The deadline to submit the Step One <br />application is June 8, 2008. <br />Jim added that the Go Local Presentation is being made to Garden Grove City <br />Council on November 27, 2007. City seeks to partner with them on the Go <br />Local Program. <br />Toni added that the City of Santa Ana is in a good position to apply for Step <br />One with OCTA. Jose suggested that the City identify how much money is <br />needed, what it's needed for, and any future plans. He added that OCTA will <br />start reviewing applications on March 1, 2008. <br />The Committee requested to see the application and draft report. Toni <br />mentioned it should be ready before the holidays. <br />Mayor Pulido showed the Committee abrochure/pamphlet that the City of <br />Anaheim has prepared.
