Broadway, Suite 301 <br />Santa Ana CA 92706 <br />(714) 966-3528 <br />2009 Santa Ana Summer Jobs Program <br />PROGRAM DESIGN SUMMARY <br />Exhibit A <br />The 2009 Summer Jobs Program at Santa Ana Unified School District will provide hands-on job <br />training for up to 100 youth in N'eb Design and/or Introduction to "Green" Occupations. <br />Participants who complete the program will be eligible to receive high school graduation credits <br />and a Certificate of Training upon approval. <br />Training Program <br />Credentialed teachers who aze experienced with at-risk youth will provide hands-on technical <br />training for three weeks at one of two high schools. Upon completion of the training, participants <br />will report to their worksites for paid on-the job training. <br />In addition to the job skills training, both courses include a unit on Job Search and Employability <br />Skills to help prepare students to be successful at their worksites. <br />Courses Offered <br />Based on their interests, participants will be able to choose from the following courses: <br />• Web Design <br />• Intro to "Green" Occupations <br />Note: Additional courses are available upon request. <br />Training Schedule <br />Training classes will be provided on the following days/times at Valley High School (High <br />School, Iac.), Santa Ana High School, and/or Ritchey Center. Older youth may only attend <br />training at the Ritchey Center; younger youth may attend either location. <br />Dates Days Time of day Training Total Training Hrs. <br />June/July M-F Sam-12pm 20 hrs/wk 80 hours <br />Worksite Development <br />Central County ROP will identify worksites for participants in the Introduction to "Green" <br />Occupations class, and then refer~interested employers to SAWIB for orientation. <br />Potential worksites include governmental and regulatory agencies, non-profits, utility companies, <br />public works, construction companies and private sector businesses. <br />
