Apri122, 2009 <br />~ ~ Central County ROP Proposal Summer Jobs <br />i <br />PROGRAM DESIGN SUMMARY <br />Web Design & Introduction to "Green" Careers <br />The following is a brief synopsis of our proposed Program Design: <br />Industry experts will train students in their choice of Web Design or <br />Introduction to "Green" Cazeers at two high schools in the Santa Ana Unified <br />School District. Training will be 4 hours per day, 5 days per week for three <br />weeks, followed by paid internships in local businesses, "green" agencies, and <br />public/non-profit orgaiuzations. In addition,~SAUSD will grant participants <br />high school credits towazd their high school diplomas. <br />I. Services To Be Provided by SAUSD: <br />Web Design and Introduction to Green Careers <br />1. Technical Skills Training for 4 weeks, 20 hrs/week byState- <br />Certificated Occupational Teachers <br />2. Workforce Readiness and Employability Skills <br />3. 80 hrs of hands-on training in Web Design and Introduction to Green <br />Careers <br />4. Salaries for 3 Credentialed Instructors <br />5. Softwaze, Books and Materials <br />6. Teacher supervision <br />7. Operating/facilities costs <br />II. Services to be Provided by Central County ROP: <br />1. Contract management, fiscal services and grant compliance <br />2. Program Design <br />3. Instructional Support Services <br />4. Worksite Development for Introduction to Green Careers <br />III. Services to be provided by Santa Ana Youth (SAY) Staff: <br />1. Worksite development for Web Design <br />2. Training of worksite supervisors <br />3. Participant Worksite supervision <br />4.
