REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />September 8, 2009 <br />TITLE: <br />QUARTERLY REPORT OF CONTRACTS <br />ENTERED INTO BY THE CITY <br />MANAGER <br />ci- <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />9---ol 9i <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the Quarterly Report of Contracts entered into between <br />April 1 and June 30, 2009, valued at $25,000 and less. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On November 7 2006 the voters approved a Charter Amendment increasing the <br />authority of the City Manager to enter into contracts and agreements up to <br />a value of $25,000. Section 421 of the Charter requires the City Manager <br />to report to the City Council quarterly on the contracts entered into <br />under his authority for informational purposes. The report is required to <br />include the names of contractors and the amounts of each contract. <br />Exhibit A is a listing of all purchase orders, agreements and change <br />notices entered into between April 1 and June 30, 2009 valued at amounts <br />between $500 and $25,000. Unless included under a blanket contract, the <br />City as a general rule does not purchase goods or services valued at under <br />$500 through either a purchase order or an agreement.
