the City during the 2008 -2009 report period were programs aimed at assisting and reducing the number of families living at or below poverty. • During the report period over 7,900 youths were provided services that included gang diversion, counseling, education, art appreciation, and recreation programs. • Programs such as delivering meals to homebound seniors and referral services addressed the needs of 1,145 Santa Ana seniors. • Other public services provided during the report period included programs for the disabled, medical /dental care, substance abuse recovery assistance, and crisis intervention.
