REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />OCTOBER 5, 2009 <br />TITLE <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR <br />TEMPORARY ENGINEERING AND <br />TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES <br />~ti s~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s1 Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute a second <br />amendment to the consultant agreement with PDS Technical Services for <br />temporary engineering and technical support services in the amount of <br />$150,000 for a total agreement amount not to exceed $450,000 subject to <br />non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DlscUSSION <br />In November 2008 the City Council approved an amendment to the agreement <br />with PDS Technical Services for temporary engineering services. These <br />services will augment services provided by City staff and are required to <br />complete the design of the City's Capital Improvement projects due to <br />funding deadlines. <br />PDS has been providing temporary staffing for several key positions in <br />the Public Works Agency. Staff recommends approval of an additional <br />$150,000 to assist staff with the completion of projects funded in the <br />Capital Improvement Program. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />25C-1 <br />
