Award a contract to American Asphalt South, Inc., the lowest <br /> responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br /> estimated amount of $130,150 for construction of slurry sealing of <br /> local streets. <br /> 2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br /> of $161,900. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> Public Works Agency maintains the pavement management system (PMS) that <br /> contains street pavement condition data inventory. Based on the PMS <br /> program, certain streets have been identified for maintenance to prevent <br /> further deterioration and extend its service life (Exhibit 1). A slurry <br /> seal is applied to the streets to provide a high durable surface and low <br /> cost maintenance. <br /> The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on October 7th and 9th, 2009, and <br /> bids were opened on October 27, 2009.
