In the <br />event of a need for the RALS, the patrol supervisor will be contacted and he can deliver the <br />RALS to the site of the emergency or event. <br />Funding: <br />Total Allocation: $24,723.00 <br />PROACT Contribution: $N /A <br />Administrative Fee (9.0 %): $2,225.07 <br />Funds Retained by City: $22,497.93 <br />City: FOUNTAIN VALLEY <br />The City of Fountain Valley proposes to use the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant <br />funding as follows: <br />Project Obiectives (Must be linked to meaningful and measurable outcomes consistent with <br />the goals of the Recovery Act; refer to solicitation) <br />The objectives of this grant are to improve or increase the technical abilities of the <br />Fountain Valley Police Department to impact crime and respond to major emergencies <br />within the community. This will be accomplished with the purchase of the following: <br />1. Covert Video Cameras <br />2. Emergency Operations Center Upgrade <br />3. Crime Mapping Software <br />The Fountain Valley Police Department uses a COMPSTAT model for analyzing crime <br />trends and directing Police resources as expeditiously as possible. The purchase of covert <br />video cameras and crime mapping software will allow the Police Department to more <br />effectively direct precious Police Department resources to high crime areas. <br />Upgrading the Department's Emergency Operations Center will allow the department to <br />respond effectively to man -made and natural disasters. <br />Goal: <br />The goals of these expenditures are to reduce crime by improving the Police Department's <br />ability to monitor, survey, and apprehend criminals, as well as improve the department's <br />ability to respond to crisis situations such as natural disasters or civil unrest.
