ATTACHMENT A <br /> Quantifiable Performance Measures: <br /> A majority consensus among all uniformed staff using the purchased equipment indicating <br /> that the equipment has been a benefit to their overall officer safety and effectiveness <br /> during work in low light conditions. Additionally, an improved outward uniform <br /> appearance of consistency with respect to equipment on the duty belt should be apparent <br /> once the program is put into operation <br /> <br /> _ Timeline andfor project plan: <br /> Purchase of the new lighting equipment can be made in the next 60 days and the <br /> equipment will be distributed to all uniformed personnel in Mission Viejo once it has been <br /> delivered. The performance measures can be examined after the lights have been in use for <br /> a period of 6 months. <br /> Funding: <br /> Total Allocation: $10,102 <br /> PROACT Contribution: 0% $0 <br /> Administrative Fee (9%): $909.18 <br /> Funds Retained by City/County: $9,142.31 <br /> City: Newport Beach <br /> The City of Newport Beach proposes to use the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant funding <br /> as follows: <br /> Proiect Objectives (Type of programs to be funded and need for the programs; refer to <br /> solicitation) <br /> Maintaining the high level of crime prevention that resulted from the establishment of a <br /> Crime Prevention Program under the Justice Assistance Grant program. <br /> Goals of the project: <br /> The goal of the program is to maintain a highly visible program dedicated to 1) Preventing <br /> Crime, 2) Disseminating correct and realistic information about criminal activity and crime <br /> prevention, and 3) Enhancing the perception of security within the community. <br /> Strategies to be used,for project: <br /> Conduct Neighborhood watch meetings, crime prevention meetings and the distribution of <br /> community crime alert bulletins to keep the community informed of current crime trends <br /> in an effort to better prepare the community to take crime prevention measures. <br /> 2009- DJ-BX-0033 Page 18 of 27 <br /> 20A-25 <br /> <br />
