Determination of Annual Storage Losses. <br />Each year OCWD will estimate the amount of groundwater lost from the groundwater basin and <br />present it to the operating committee for concurrence. The amount of losses will be divided by <br />1.0 million acre-feet (AF} which is the approximate total useable groundwater storage space in <br />the basin. This percentage will then be multiplied by the amount of water Metropolitan has <br />stored in the basin to determine how much Metropolitan water has been lost. <br />Modeling has shown that the amount of water lost from storage is directly related to the <br />District's accumulated overdraft, which is currently approximately 405,000 AF.
