Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> ~L / FILE NUMBER <br /> C TY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Renew the contract with The Home Depot for the purchase of miscellaneous <br /> construction materials for a one-year period in an annual amount not to <br /> exceed $95,000. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The City maintains in excess of 50 buildings, including City Hall, the <br /> Corporate Yard, the Police Administration and Holding Facility, fire <br /> stations, recreation and senior centers, libraries, and park facilities. <br /> Blanket Order Lists consisting of vendors that provide supplies and <br /> services required by agencies on a consistent basis are established <br /> annually. Home Depot provides construction materials such as lumber, <br /> electrical and plumbing supplies, hardware, and fixtures that are used <br /> extensively in the maintenance of City facilities. The contract will ensure <br /> that all necessary materials are available when required. Although, most <br /> of the purchased made against this blanket order are in increments of $500 <br /> or less, larger projects in the past two years include supplies for the <br /> Police Department training course, After School Adventures program at the <br /> E1 Salvador Center and for the Catalina camp-out for youth. <br /> <br /> On July 18, 2005, the City Council awarded a contract to The Home Depot, a <br /> <br /> Santa Ana vendor, for a one-year period, with provision for four one-year <br /> <br /> renewals. The Home Depot has performed satisfactorily during the past <br /> <br /> contract period, and staff recommends the final renewal of the contract. <br /> 22A-1 <br /> <br />
