Knitter, President, The Moote Group as a private <br /> sector member on the Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board. <br /> WORKFORCE INVESMENT BOARD RECOMMENDATION <br /> At its regular meeting of November 20, 2009, by a vote of 20:0, (de Leon, <br /> Fischer, Hood, Korthuis, Lin, Martinez, Metzler, Pina, and Syed absent), <br /> the Workforce Investment Board recommended that the City Council appoint <br /> Marjorie A. Knitter, President, The Moote Group as a private sector <br /> member on the Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On March 6, 2000, the Santa Ana City Council adopted a resolution <br /> establishing the Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board and appointed 35 <br /> members. In accordance with the federal legislation, a majority of the <br /> Board members and the Board Chair must come from the private sector. The <br /> remaining Board members represent education, non-profit organizations, <br /> one-stop mandated partners and local labor organizations. <br /> There are four mandated private sector positions on the Board that are <br /> currently vacant. After an extensive recruitment campaign and interview <br /> process, staff is recommending the appointment of Ms. Marjorie A. Knitter <br /> as a private sector member.
