Adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Manager and the Chief of Police <br /> to execute a sub-grant award agreement with the State of California, <br /> Office of Emergency Services 2007 Anti-Gang Initiative Program funding <br /> in the amount of $25,000. <br /> 2. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing State of California <br /> Office of Emergency Services 2007 Anti-Gang Initiative Supplemental <br /> Grant funds of $25,000 revenue account (account no. 15514002-52001) and <br /> appropriate the same to expenditure account (account no. 15514413- <br /> 61040) . <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On February 5, 2007, Council accepted the State of California, Office of <br /> Emergency Services, Anti-Gang Initiative Grant funds in the amount $50,000. <br /> Additional funding has been made available to the Santa Ana Police <br /> Department in the amount of $25,000. The Grant funding will support the <br /> activities of the Santa Anita Gang Junction efforts. As a participating <br /> member of this grant program, the Santa Ana Police Department will receive <br /> the additional grant funds for overtime related to the gang enforcement <br /> activities. Staff recommends approval of the recommended actions as the <br /> grant program positively impacts the community by directly aiding in the <br /> efforts to reduce gang activities. <br /> 55A-1 <br /> <br />
