EXHIBIT A
This scope and cost estimate is for time and materials, not to exceed $7,438.
Task 1 Site Assessment and Mapping
NewFields will visit the project site to assess and map the proposed planting areas for native
riparian woodland and floodplain scrub habitat adjacent to the south side of Santiago Creek
within Santiago Park. Soil texture assessments will be made to assist in determining species list
for planting and seeding particular plant species.
It is assumed that an aerial image of the site with an overlay map produced by NewFields will be
sufficient to identify planting areas.
Cost Estimate -Task 1: $2,720
Task 2 Species Lists, Planting and Seeding Specirications, Maintenance Guidelines
Based on the results from Task 1, NewFields will prepare plant lists, seeding and planting
specifications for the riparian woodland and floodplain scrub habitats. The aerial image of the
site will be used to layout the plan for the restoration areas. Specifications will include
qualification requirements for a restoration contractor for installation and maintenance.
Establishment maintenance specifications and long term maintenance of planting areas will be
prepared.
Cost Estimate — Task 2: $2,118
Task 3 Construction Oversight
NewFields will meet with the Contractor once prior to implementation of the planting plans to
explain the specifications, as necessary. Following the initial meeting, NewFields will conduct up
to three site visits during implementation, including site preparation, seeding and planting.
Four site visits will be conducted to insure proper establishment maintenance in the first season
after planting and seeding.
A brief memorandum summarizing conditions will be provided to the City Park Planner after
each visit.
Cost Estimate — Task 3: $2,600
Total Cost Estimate for Tasks 1 through Task 3: $7,438
