Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $176,990 in unspent budgeted revenues <br /> from prior years for the Empowerment Zone Program. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the attached amendment <br /> with The Cambodian Family in the amount of $150,000, for a total aggregate amount not to <br /> exceed $306,319, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br /> Attorney. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment with EI <br /> Puente Community Development Corporation dba KidWorks in the amount of $35,000, for a <br /> total aggregate amount not to exceed $116,136, subject to non-substantive changes <br /> approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On May 18, 1999, the City of Santa Ana signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the United <br /> States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by which the City received the <br /> designation of a Round II Empowerment Zone (FEZ) effective January 1, 1999 through <br /> December 31, 2009. <br /> <br /> At their April 22, 2009 Board of Directors meeting, the Santa Ana Empowerment Corporation <br /> (SAEC) approved funding of $156,319 to The Cambodian Family and $81,136 to EI Puente <br /> Community Development Corporation dba KidWorks for proposals submitted in a recent Request <br /> <br /> for Proposal (RFP) process for programs and services to Empowerment Zone residents. This <br /> action was to fully obligate the remaining Empowerment Zone program funds before the end of <br /> <br /> the FEZ designation. <br /> 20C-1 <br /> <br />
