Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Renew the contract with Fisher Scientific for safety gloves for aone-year period in an annual <br /> amount not to exceed $35,000. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The Central Stores section of the Finance and Management Services Agency provides safety <br /> gloves to various departments throughout the City for use in the performance of their duties. <br /> Included are disposable neoprene gloves for use with chemicals, single use nitrite gloves for light <br /> duty, G-Tek puncture-resistant gloves are used extensively by the water department, and canvas <br /> and leather work gloves are used throughout the organization. The contract for safety gloves is <br /> designed to provide quality products at significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> On April 6, 2009, the City Council awarded a contract to Fisher Scientific for aone-year period <br /> with provision for three one-year renewals. Fisher Scientific has performed satisfactorily during <br /> the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing.
