Contract Award for Brass Water Service Fittings <br /> April 5, 2010 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 24, 2009 and bids were solicited. A <br /> summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br /> 13 Invitations For Bid mailed <br /> 6 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br /> 6 Bids received <br /> 3 Bid received from Santa Ana vendors <br /> Bids were received, opened on December 15, 2009, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bids were <br /> evaluated by individual product categories. The bids received from H.D. Supply Waterworks, a <br /> Santa Ana vendor, Inland Water Works Supply and Cambridge Brass, Inc. are responsive to the <br /> specifications in their respective categories and meet the City's requirements. The annual <br /> amounts are based upon past usage and staff's projection for the next year. <br /> Additionally, H.D. Supply Waterworks provides fire hydrant repair kits, tools and building supplies. <br /> The contract for brass water service fittings, when combined with previous purchases during the <br /> current fiscal year, exceeds the $25,000 aggregate limit. In order to facilitate future purchases of <br /> fire hydrant repair kits, tools and building supplies, staff recommends a $15,000 increase in the <br /> aggregate limit. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds are available in the Water Utility Water Systems Maintenance and Water Quality & <br /> Measurement accounts (nos. 06017641-63001 and 06017644-63001). <br /> APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> r- <br /> Raul Godinez II Francisco Gutierrez <br /> Executive Direct r Executive Director <br /> Public Works Agency Finance & Mgmt.
