CUP No. 2010 -01 and VA No. 2010 -02 <br />February 22, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />Corinthian Colleges, Inc. is one of the largest postsecondary education companies in North America <br />offering diploma programs and associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of <br />occupational areas. These areas include healthcare, transportation technology and maintenance, <br />criminal justice, business, information technology and construction trades. It operates numerous <br />campuses throughout North America including the City of Anaheim offering career - focused programs <br />to adult learners. Classes are conducted at the project site along with hands -on instruction for <br />particular subjects. <br />A total of 25,618 square feet of administrative office and 13,898 square feet of classroom will be used <br />for the school. The maximum student enrollment is estimated to be 975 students and 71 staff <br />members. Class schedules are proposed in four shifts during the week: shift one will be scheduled <br />from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; shift two will be scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; shift three will <br />be scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and shift four will be scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 10:45 <br />p.m., Monday through Friday. The proposed site is currently developed with a professional office building and <br />parking structure and is surrounded primarily by similar commercial development, along with <br />residential to the south and the Civic Center government offices and the downtown commercial <br />district. The allowance of the proposed professional school will help to inject a large number of <br />potential customers into the downtown while filling a void between the civic center and downtown. <br />The location of the proposed school could help to provide a link between the civic center and the <br />downtown shops and restaurants by creating a large professional population that currently does <br />not exist. <br />31A-4 <br />
