<br />Key Taller San Jose staff includes the following: <br /> <br />Executive Director, Shawlla Smith (.10) <br />Shawna has worked at Taller San Jose for ten years assisting in the development of numerous <br />projects including the constmction training program. She received her B.A. from Santa Clara <br />University and spent a year working with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Orange County. In 2005, <br />Shawna was recognized as a Marano Fellow by the Aspen Institute and attended their Sector <br />Skills Academy which provides emerging leaders with a unique 9Pportunity for peer learning, <br />skills development and professional growth. <br /> <br />Director of Workforce Development, Juana T. Perez (.10) <br />Juana assists with the oversight for all workforce training programs and works closely with <br />Program Managers to maintain the quality and consistency in each training program and ensure <br />alignment with the mission. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Riverside <br />and her MA in Public Policy & Administration with 8n Urban Affairs emphasis from the <br />University of California Long Beach. <br /> <br />Program Intal{e Coordinator, Abigail Castillo (.33) <br />Abigail collects program applications, schedules drug screenings and coordinates TABE testing <br />for every applicant. She graduated from Taller San Jose's Office Careers Academy with <br />Microsoft Word and Excel cel1ification in August 2008. She is currently emolled in Santa Ana <br />College and is pursuing her Associates Degree. <br /> <br />Director of Finance, Nancy Loughrey (.10) <br />Nancy has been a Certified Public Accountant for 24 years, and has had an extensive experience <br />with small-businesses, especially concentrating on nonprofits and computer software companies. <br />She holds a RS and an M.B.A. in Finance. In addition to responsibility for all accounting <br />functions, Nancy is responsible for business systems and propel1y maintenance. <br /> <br />Alumni Services Coordinator, David Saldana (.10) <br />David provides comprehensive follow-up services to recent graduates and active alumni and <br />oversees student pal1icipation in Taller San Jose's Individual Development Account (IDA). He <br />received his BA in Psychology from Califomia State University Long Beach. Before joining <br />Taller San Jose, David spent 4 years as a house manager for a juvenile boy's group home and is <br />currently a Mentor for OC Wraparound services. <br /> <br />Case Manager, Art Guerrero (.25) <br />Art received his B.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine University. Before coming to TSJ, Art <br />worked for over twenty years as a federal probation officer. <br /> <br />Instructor, Kevin Rhoades (.40) <br />Bringing over 15 years of carpentry experience to Taller Tech, Kevin Rhoades assists the <br />Program Director with the development and maintenance of training curriculum and program <br />components and provides hands-on training and classroom instruction in the fundamentals of <br />construction. Kevin has a General Education degree from Mt.
