Also address integrity) <br /> The J. C. Smith House is arohitecturally significant as it exemplifies the Tudor Revival style. It was built for John and Annette <br /> Smith. John Smith was an oil worker for the Holly Development Company which was a subsidiary of the Holly Sugar <br /> Company who had a factory in Santa Ana during that time. The sugar company diversified into oil production and land <br /> development and was the parent company to: Holly Oil Company, Holly Development Company, Southern California Sugar <br /> Company, and the Santa Ana Sugar Company. Mr. Smith was an oil pumper for the company, an occupation which entails <br /> controlling the flow of oil from a steam, gas, electric, or diesel oil pump. Annette Smith passed away in 1948. On or about that <br /> time, Mr. Smith retin;d.
