Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> i ~ <br /> li .1-- FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreements, subject to <br /> nonsubstantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney: <br /> • Pieper Properties for the purchase of 1211 West Warner Avenue in the amount of $1,429,550. <br /> • Zapateria Guanajuato for acquisition settlement for the property at 303 North Bristol in the <br /> amount of $225,000. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On March 6, 2006, the City Council approved the cooperative agreement between the City and the <br /> Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to fund Bristol Street improvements from Warner <br /> Avenue to Seventeenth Street. The first phase of the project, between Pine Street and McFadden <br /> Avenue, is under construction and is expected to be completed by September 2010. Public Works <br /> is acquiring property for the second phase of the project, between Third Street and Civic Center <br /> Drive, as well as the intersection of Bristol Street and Warner Avenue. <br /> To accommodate the widening for the second phase, acquisition of the entire property located at <br /> 1211 Warner Avenue is required (Exhibit 1). In addition, a settlement agreement has been reached <br /> <br /> with the tenant of the property at 303 North Bristol for relocation benefits. This property was <br /> acquired in 2009. The compensation amounts are the appraised values prepared by an appraiser <br /> licensed by the State of California. <br /> 25A-1 <br /> <br />
