r0MMFNTS <br />90A CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS — Acknowledged National Public Works <br />week and thanked departmental staff for efforts. <br />Robert Santana, Chief Professional Officer of Boys and Girls Club provided <br />highlight of services at facility and upcoming field dedication of Angels <br />Softball Field. <br />90B CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Tinajero: <br />• Thanked Boys and Girls Club for hosting tonight's meeting; <br />• Requested staff review finding of Study on Arapaho Drive; <br />• Staff to continue to provide update on SACReD community; and <br />• Reported on criticism received by City Council on council's recent support <br />opposition of Arizona's SB1070. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Thanked Robert Santana and staff for hosting Council meeting, <br />appreciative of programs offered to community; look forward to Santa Ana <br />Student Summit, and grand opening of softball field. <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Thanked City Manager Ream and Board of Directors for support of Boys <br />and Girls Club over the years; <br />• Relay for Life event taking place on May 22nd; invited all to attend at Santa <br />Ana College field; <br />• Wine Walk event taking place at Washington Square neighborhood; <br />• Invited all to attend the Cambodian Family Achievement Center event; and <br />• Commented on hardships of layoffs and City Hall Friday closures are a <br />consequence of tough economic times. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Alvarez: <br />• Urged unions to work with City staff and Council on concessions to avoid <br />further layoffs and service reductions. <br />Mayor Pulido: <br />• Expressed gratitude to Al Honer for generous donation to Boys and Girls <br />Club. <br />ADJOURNED- 7:44 p.m. - The next meeting of the City Council is scheduled for <br />Monday, June 7, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. for the Closed Session Meeting <br />immediately followed by the Regular Business Meeting in the Council <br />Chamber, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. <br />Maria D.
