Contract Award for Traffic Signal Systems Upgrade Equipment <br /> June 21, 2010 <br /> Page two ' <br /> Bids were solicited and opened on May 21, 2010, and evaluated. The bid received from Safetran <br /> Traffic Systems, Inc. is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. To allow <br /> for unanticipated order modification, an additional five percent contingency has been included in the <br /> award amount. <br /> Secondly, according to the City's purchasing code, sole source criteria has been met for awards to <br /> GDI Communications LLC for internal dual modems and internal mount modems that provide the <br /> required speed and are fully compatible with the City's MIST central traffic signal system <br /> communication requirements. In addition, the Public Works Agency Adaptive Downtown Traffic Signal <br /> Project in 2008 formally standardized controllers from Econolite Control Products, Inc. as the <br /> manufacture of the City's traffic signal controllers.
