Ziebarth Company, the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with <br /> unit bid prices in the estimated amount of $1,717,000 for construction of the West Pump <br /> Station Facilities Upgrade. <br /> 2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of $2,146,200. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> Santa Ana's West Reservoir and pumping station was originally constructed in 1963 (Exhibit 1). <br /> The facility includes a 6-million-gallon steel reservoir with five electric motor driven booster pumps <br /> used to supply potable water to the City's distribution system. All equipment and piping is currently <br /> located outside and the site secured with a chain link fence. The pumping equipment is worn and <br /> deteriorated from years of operation and exposure to the elements, and the electrical panels and <br /> wiring are otd, obsolete, and operate inefficiently. Additionally, the site pavement is badly <br /> deteriorated. The project would provide for replacement of the pumping and electrical equipment, <br /> construction of a pump station building, and reconstruction of the site pavement. <br /> The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 24 and 26, 2010, and bids were opened on <br /> April 28, 2010.
