Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached first amendment to the <br /> agreement with Houston Harris PCS Inc., subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by the City <br /> Mana er an i <br /> d C t Attorne to rovide television ins <br /> g y y, p pection of sanitary sewers services, in an amount <br /> not to exceed $300,000. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The City owns and maintains a sanitary sewer collection system consisting of 390 miles of pipelines <br /> and 7,600 manholes. Closed circuit television (CCTV) technology is utilized to assess the condition <br /> of sewer mains and identify system deficiencies. The City has historically utilized consulting firms to <br /> provide CCTV inspection services. The proposed contract for sewer CCTV inspection will provide for <br /> inspection of approximately 71 miles of pipeline (18 percent of the system). The project budget is set <br /> at $300,000. <br /> In 2009, Requests for Proposals for CCTV inspection services were sent and five proposals were <br /> received and evaluated. Houston Harris PCS, Inc. was selected as the top-rated firm. <br /> On September 7, 2009, the Council awarded an agreement to Houston Harris PCS, Inc. for a one <br /> year term, with provision for three one-year renewals. Houston Harris PCS, Inc. has performed all <br /> contractual services satisfactorily and has agreed to renew the agreement without increasing prices. <br /> Staff recommends that the agreement with Houston Harris PCS, Inc. be renewed for an additional <br /> one-year term (exhibit 1). This is the first of three possible one-year renewals. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br /> There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br /> 25E-1 <br /> <br />
