Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Renew the contracts for janitorial supplies for cone-year period in a total annual aggregate amount <br /> not to exceed $85,000 with: <br /> Vendor: Location: <br /> Gale Supply Company Los Angeles <br /> Kathco Products Commerce <br /> Waxie Sanitary Supply Santa Ana <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The Central Stores section located at the Corporate Yard provides janitorial supplies such as brooms <br /> and brushes, trashcans, cleansers, polishes, soaps and disinfectants as necessary to maintain the <br /> various City facilities. Currently, janitorial supplies are provided out of Central Stores for the Police <br /> Department and the Fire Stations. The contracted janitorial service for City Hall, the Corporate Yard, <br /> Parks & Recreation facilities, the Regional Transportation Center includes full service along with <br /> providing all paper goods and cleaning supplies. The contracts for janitorial supplies are designed to <br /> provide quality products at a significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> On April 7, 2008, the City Council awarded contracts to Gale Supply Company, Kathco Products and <br /> Waxie Sanitary Supply a Santa Ana vendor for atwo-year period, with provisions for two one-year <br /> renewals. The vendors have performed satisfactorily during the past 2-year contract period. Kathco <br /> Products and Waxie Sanitary Supply, a Santa Ana vendor, have agreed to renew their contracts <br /> without an increase in pricing. Gale Supply Company has requested an average 7.5 percent <br /> increase on any petroleum based products from their initial 2008 price base. Staff verified the <br /> increase is consistent with the market for paper, wood and petroleum based products and the vendor <br /> continues to offer a competitive price. Staff recommends the first renewal of the contract. The <br /> annual amount is based upon past usage. The contract for Kathco Products also is extended to their <br /> <br /> full line of products covering landscaping and tool supplies. <br /> 22F-1 <br /> <br />
