LAND USE ELEMENT <br />IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAMS <br />'I'bis section serves as a guide for the Land Use Element's implementation, and <br />contains a listing of programs which will be effective in meeting this goal The <br />programs are arranged below in alphabetical order. <br />Uniform Code Review. "I'he City will periodically review, and attempt to <br />modify the Uniform Housing Code to reflect safe occupancy standards. <br />Code Enforcement. Code enforcement is an ongoing program designed to <br />ensure that homes and businesses meet current zoning regulations, as well as <br />safety standards. Structures and/or properties not. in compliance with City <br />codes and regulations must be upgraded to protect the safety and welfixre of <br />people living and/or working in the City. Code enforcement efforts will <br />continue as applicable to maintain acceptable standards. <br />Environmental Review "I'he City will continue to evaluate [he environmental <br />impacts of new development, and provide mitigation measures prior to <br />development approval, as required by the California Environrnental Quality <br />Act (CEQA). Environmental review shall be provided for major projects, and <br />those having the potential to adversel}~ impact the environment. In <br />compliance with CEQA, the City also assigns responsibilities for verifying the <br />implementation of mitigation measures. <br />General Plan Annual Status Report. StafFwill conduct an annual review and <br />develop a status report detailing the efforts completed to implement the Land <br />Use Element. <br />Historic Review Process. '['he City will implement a process for the revie+v, <br />and designation of historic structures. "Phis process is intended to preserve <br />architcccurally signit3canc buildings by encouraging their ongoing <br />maintenance and rchabilicacion. <br />Interagency Coordination. Designated representatives from the City will <br />mete with other responsible governmental agencies concerning issues related <br />co planning and development in the City, as appropriata'I'he City's project <br />review process is a component of its ongoing interagency coordination <br />process. <br />Mitigation Fees. The City assesses fees on new development to ensure that <br />the public does not incur an undue financial burden in providing services to <br />the project. The City annually evaluates reasonable and fair methods of <br />assessing new development For the cost of providing any additional <br />infrastructure inquired by the development. <br />Project Review. "I'he Cicy will continue to implement its current project <br />review procedures.
