ARRA EXHIBIT B <br />(Standard Agreement) <br />ATTACHMENT II <br />PROGRAM WORK PLAN <br />TERM <br />June 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010 <br />II. PURPOSE <br />The Santa Ana Youth (SAY) Employment Program administered by the Santa Ana <br />WORK Center will provide paid summer work experiences for approximately 60 to <br />70 youth. The purpose of the program will be to provide work experience training for <br />youth ages 16-24. <br />III. POPULATION TO BE SERVED <br />Eligibility requirements will be based on following criteria: <br />• Youth ages 16 to 24 years old <br />• Legal permission to work in the United States <br />• Low Income (equal to or under 200 percent of federal poverty level) <br />• Work permit if under 18 years old <br />• Registered with selective services (Males 18 and older) <br />IV. PROGRAM DESIGN. ELEMENTS. AND GOALS <br />A. Program Design: <br />• Provide an objective assessment of each youth participant that includes a review of <br />occupational skill levels as well as service needs <br />• Develop an individual service plan including service needs determined during <br />assessment <br />B. Program Elements <br />The following program elements will be made available to eligible youth enrolled in the <br />SAY Employment Program. Activities are aimed at providing a comprehensive strategy <br />that addresses employment and training needs: <br />• Work Experience (20-40 hours per week for 6 weeks) <br />• Work Readiness Workshops <br />• Employment Readiness Skills <br />• Career Development <br />• Child Labor Laws <br />• Post-Secondary Education information <br />• Life Skills <br />• Financial Literacy <br />C. Goals <br />• Enroll 60-70 youth <br />• Provide meaningful work experience <br />• Provide youth the skills and tools for future re-employment and self-sufficiency <br />• Provide resources and a positive outlook for higher education <br />ARRA-B7
