2 <br />EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT (ESG) <br />The Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing Act of 2009 <br />(HEARTH Act) amended the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, significantly <br />revising the former Emergency Shelter Grants Program and renaming it the Emergency <br />Solutions Grants program. The ESG program provides funding for street outreach, <br />emergency shelter, emergency shelter operations, essential services, rapid re-housing, and <br />homelessness prevention. <br />The City has been allocated $4,190,178 of CDBG, $1,159,062 of HOME, and $377,330 of ESG <br />funds for the 2025 Program Year.
