4. Describe how training and services result in career paths that lead youth towards self- <br />sufficiency. Please provide Labor Market information if training is provided. <br />The mission of the Orangewood Children's Foundation is to successfully transition foster <br />youth into independent adults, which is the reason why we highly value our partnership <br />with the Santa Ana WIB/Youth Council. As mentioned above, FYLP will not offer a <br />formal job training component. Our efforts with youth and young adults will be focused <br />on work readiness, attainment of employment, and job retention. However, in addition to <br />the services in this proposal, we may utilize Labor Market information to help clients find <br />career paths and support that lead to self-sufficiency. Some resources we may utilize to <br />assist clients are listed below: <br />• The Centers of Excellence website provides regional economic and workforce <br />information. They have information on Energy Efficiency Occupations and Medical <br />Imaging Careers that are specifically available in Orange County <br />• OrangeCountyCareers.com is a place for job seekers to post resumes, research <br />employer postings and find other helpful resources for people in Orange County <br />• The Cal Jobs website is a good resource for job seekers to post resumes and search <br />for jobs in the Orange County area <br />• The Employment Development Department website provides Labor Market <br />information that applies locally and specifies occupation wages, demand, associated <br />industries, training programs, duties and responsibilities, necessary skills, etc. <br />• Career InfoNet is a good resource for career/job exploration, occupation <br />information, and industry information that applies to Orange County <br />• The OC Careers website is a good resource for students to connect their major or <br />occupational certificate with the appropriate industries and career paths <br />E. Facilities <br />1. State location where program services will be delivered. <br />The Orangewood Children's Foundation (OCF) is located in Santa Ana at 1575 E. 17th <br />Street. This location is easily accessible by bus as there are bus stops (eastbound and <br />westbound) directly in front of the facility. Additionally, our facility is centrally located <br />between 22, 55 and 5 freeways. OCF is well known to our adolescent and young adult <br />population ages 16 - 21 as we conduct approximately 50 ILP workshops at this location <br />per year. We also have approximately 500-600 unduplicated visits to the ORC per year. <br />2. How will participant access site if not within City of Santa Ana boundaries? <br />Our facility is located in Santa Ana, though sometimes our clients may not be able to get <br />to us. Fortunately, our Foster Youth Liaison Project Peer Mentors are accessible by <br />telephone, email and they may meet clients in the field when necessary. <br />3. List hours of operation? <br />The Orangewood Children's Foundation hours of operation are Monday through Friday <br />from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Orangewood Resource Center (ORC) is open Monday <br />through Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Clients <br />who make an appointment with ORC staff or peer mentors may meet with them or utilize <br />the ORC after hours. <br />4.
