De artment of <br /> 9 ~ <br /> Housing and Urban Development THUD} for the Housing opportunities for Persons with AIDS <br /> ~H~PwA} Program to be used countywide. The H~PV11A Pro ram is deli ned to rovide <br /> g ~ <br /> resources and incentives for Tong-terra comprehensive strategies to meet the housing needs of <br /> persons with Acquired lmr~une Deficiency Syndrome ~A~DS}, HUD has allocated ~ ,~8, ~ to <br /> the City of Santa Ana for the fiscal year ~-fig ~ . <br /> Eligible activities for the H~PVIIA Program include: } new construction, acquisition and <br /> rehabilitation of affordable housing; provision of tenant-based rental assistance; } short-tern <br /> rental and mortgage payment assistance to prevent homelessness; 4~ supportive racial services <br /> and housing inforr~ation ervicesr }technical assistance; and } administrative e~cpenses incurred . <br /> by jurisdictions coordinating local programs. In allocating grant funds for eligible activities, the City <br /> of Santa Ana is required to consider the service needs of eligible persons who reside throughout <br /> grange County and approve funding far projects which ~,ay be located anyvuher within the <br /> County. <br /> In order to ensure that the limited funds are prioritized, City staff has worl~ed closely with the <br /> Housing Cor~r~ittee of the grange County HII! Planning Councilr the HI~1 P~annin Council, and <br /> g <br /> agencies throughout the County of grange providing services to the H11~1AiD community. <br /> December OO9, a strategic planning meeting was held to determine priorities forthe fiscal ear <br /> y <br /> ~g10-~0~1 funds. representatives frorr~ the grange County Health Care A enc , service <br /> g Y <br /> providers from throughout the county, HIII1AlD infected and affected individuals and City staff <br /> participated in the meeting. <br /> 5 <br /> Based on the strategic planning meeting, the ~o~o-~o~ ~ fiscal year funding recor~r~endations , <br /> <br /> were established. The recommended funding levels are: ~a~,oD~ to continue the Tenant <br /> Based dental Assistance Program with the Housing Authority of the City of Santa who will <br /> subcontract with AIDS Services Foundation grange County to administer the gait list; } 8~~,1 <br /> <br /> to the grange County Health Care Agency for supportive housing services to individuals - <br /> <br /> throughout grange County. <br /> <br />
