OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
June 10, 2025
RE: Letter of Support for the #ReasonableRanks Campaign
To Whom it May Concern:
On behalf of the City of Corona, I write to express our support for the #ReasonableRanks
campaign —an important, community -led effortto reform military discharge policies and
ensure that injured service members are treated with dignity, fairness, and the opportunity
to continue serving in meaningful ways.
As leaders of the City of Corona, we hold deep respect for the men and women who step
forward to serve our nation. Yettoo often, service members injured during training are
quietly discharged —without the chance to heal, to serve in a new capacity, orto access the
benefits they've earned.
Corona is proud to be home to many veterans and military families. We understand that
service comes in many forms, and we believe military policy should reflect thattruth. The
#ReasonableRanks campaign isn't just about policy reform —it's about restoring dignity.
That's why the City of Corona Council fully supports Covenant of Courage's efforts and the
#ReasonableRanks campaign. This initiative aligns deeply with our values: fairness,
respect, and honoring the service of all who give their best, regardless of when or how they
are injured.
We proudly join the growing call for a more inclusive and compassionate military personnel
system. We urge leaders at every level of government to embrace the goals of
#ReasonableRanks and work toward policies that ensure no service member is left behind
because their injury came before deployment.
_
Jim Steiner
Mayor, City of Corona
City of Corona • 400 S.
