FEMA DISASTER EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION SUPPORT <br />FEMA Disaster Emergency Communications (DEC) deploys, installs, operates, maintains, and <br />protects telecommunications, logistics, and operations assets in support of planned special events <br />and in response to disasters, assisting citizens and first responders. <br />DEC provides DEC through six geographically dispersed Mobile Emergency Response Support <br />(MERS) detachments and a pre-positioned fleet of Mobile Communications Office Vehicles (MCOV). <br />DEC also assists SLTT entities in mitigating their DEC risks and requirements to support life-saving <br />efforts, protect property, and coordinate response and recovery operations. FEMA NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS DIRECTORATE SUPPORT <br />National Preparedness Directorate (NPD) provides training, exercises, and TA to SLTT stakeholders <br />that support operational and emergency communications.
