However, I am concerned by
recent reports of ICE raids at sensitive locations, including an April 7m visit of DHS personnel to
Los Angeles Unified School District(LAUSD) elementary schools without warrants. This is a
troublesome incident that raises questions about the safety of innocent children.
Additionally, I would also like to understand current ICE and USCIS policy surrounding
consular notification once an individual has been detained. I have heard of incidences in Orange
County, California where individuals were detained for removal, but the Mexican Consulate was
not notified.
I respectfully ask that you provide a briefing to myself and other Members of Congress on these
questions, as well as provide a copy of your current policies for removal enforcement.
Sincerely,

J. Luis Correa
Member of Congress
