Light sources shall generally not be permitted in landscaped, <br /> buffer, or setback areas except for those illuminating pedestrian <br /> walkways. Lighting used to illuminate parking areas shall be <br /> designed, located, and installed to be shielded and down-lit and to <br /> reflect away from any nearby residential areas. Lighting for <br /> advertising signs shall not create glare or light which extends to <br /> surrounding properties. <br /> d. No use shall be operated such that significant, direct glare, <br /> incidental to the operation of the use, is visible beyond the <br /> boundaries of the lot where the use is located. <br /> (8) Ground Vibration <br /> a. No use shall generate ground vibration perceptible without <br /> instruments at any point along the property line of the site except <br /> for motor vehicle operations. <br /> b. No vibration shall be produced that is transmitted through the <br /> ground and is discernible without the aid of instruments by a <br /> reasonable person at the property lines of the site. Vibrations from <br /> temporary construction, demolition, and vehicles that enter and <br /> leave the subject parcel are exempt from this standard. <br /> (9) Materials or Waste Storage <br /> a. No material or waste shall be deposited upon a subject parcel in <br /> such form or manner that it may be transferred off the parcel by <br /> natural causes or forces. <br /> b. All materials or wastes which might cause fumes or dust, or which <br /> constitute a fire hazard, or which may be edible by or otherwise be <br /> attractive to rodents or insects shall be stored outdoors only in <br /> closed containers. <br /> (10) Hazardous Materials <br /> a. Land or buildings shall not be used or occupied in any manner so <br /> as to create any fire, explosive or other hazard. All activities <br /> involving the use or storage of combustible, explosive, caustic, or <br /> otherwise hazardous materials shall comply with all applicable <br /> local, State, and Federal safety standards and shall be provided <br /> with adequate safety devices against the hazard of fire and <br /> explosion, and adequate firefighting and fire suppression <br /> equipment in compliance with City of Santa Ana regulations.
