CITY COUNCIL 13 JUNE 17, 2025 <br /> <br />Mayor Amezcua expressed support for the item. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bacerra spoke in support of the item. <br /> <br />24. Discuss and Consider Providing Direction to the City Manager, City Clerk, and <br />City Attorney to Prepare and Return to the City Council with a Resolution to <br />Amend the 2025 City Council Meeting Calendar to Provide for a City Council <br />Recess During Either July or August 2025 – Specifically by Canceling the <br />Regular Meetings Scheduled for July 1 and 15, 2025, or August 5 and 19, 2025 <br />– in Accordance with the City Council Rules and Procedures and the Ralph <br />M. Brown Act – Councilmember Lopez <br /> <br />MINUTES: Councilmember Lope z spoke regarding the proposed item and stated <br />that, in light of recent events, she is supportive of the Council’s direction. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bacerra stated, in light of recent events, he is not in support of the <br />item. <br /> <br />Councilmember Penaloza stated he is not in support of the item. <br /> <br />Councilmember Phan expressed support for a recess, but not at this time, and <br />asked for such consideration next year. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS – Public comments will be held for ALL comments on non-agenda <br />items. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Hernandez moved to allow the full three minutes for <br />the public speakers, seconded by Councilmember Lopez. <br /> <br />The motion carried, 7-0, by the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSTAIN: <br />ABSENT: <br />COUNCILMEMBER BACERRA, COUNCILMEMBER <br />HERNANDEZ, COUNCILMEMBER LOPEZ, <br />COUNCILMEMBER PENALOZA, COUNCILMEMBER PHAN, <br />MAYOR PRO TEM VAZQUEZ, MAYOR AMEZCUA <br />NONE <br />NONE <br />NONE <br />Status: 7 – 0 – Pass <br /> <br />MINUTES: The following speakers addressed City Council in-person: <br /> <br />1.
